My work is inspired by the beauty and connection to our surroundings, but not at the limitation of what the eye can see. I aim to express the feeling and energy radiating from my subject, allowing it to drive the movements and tease out the marks on my canvas while exploring the boundaries of paint application. |
Kimberly Blackstock is Vancouver based artist. She graduated with the highest marks in her class from the Design and Illustration program at Capilano University in 1995 where she developed a passion for painting and illustrating. She has exhibited her work throughout Greater Vancouver. Initially focusing on her design career, in 2012, she stepped away from her computer and picked up her brushes again as a full-time artist.
Kimberly has become a passionate and prolific painter. Her palette is uplifting and energetic, and her work is full of bigger than life gestural brushstrokes and vibrant pools of colour. She has created numerous bodies of work, both representational and abstract. |
