Caroline Hallat

Caroline Hallat

Capturing the essence of a moment in time when beauty is at its peak and finest, much like when we as woman are at the peak of our own beauty. Sadly, we are also our own worst critics and often fail to realize our beauty at every stage of our 'flowering'.

I paint the moments that spark my creativity. It might be an interesting composition, the extraordinary beauty of a bud in blossom, or the challenge of capturing a mood. I want paintings to literally jump off the canvas by way of either color or contrast. I love warm color palettes and am fascinated by Canadian subjects with African colour influences.

Picture
Caroline Hallat is originally from South Africa. Growing up in the shadow of apartheid has given her great passion and compassion for life.  After pursuing Graphic Design and Fine Arts at The Westminster University in England, she moved to Vancouver.

Caroline is inspired by her surroundings, the human figure, beautiful landscapes or an interesting composition. She enjoys the challenge of capturing a mood or the play of light and colour. Always open to new concepts, she continues to explore various aspects of painting, experimenting with composition, colour, design, acrylics and multimedia.

She is an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists. Her works hang in private collections around the world including South Africa, Canada, the UK and the USA.
