Surfacing.
Of Being. Suspended. Vulnerable. Resilient. Evolving. Emerging. Origins. Beyond. Being. At times, for me, the experience of painting is an attempt to visually articulate what is intuited but not fully grasped. Painting not what I know, but rather what is unknown.
In this exhibit, “Surfacing”, I invite you to be suspended for a moment in visual narratives beyond words.
Cerulean Emergence I, II, II is a visual exploration of the inner world. The place where I reside in what is both a familiar and unfamiliar interior landscape. A held space for presence. Who am I and who am I becoming?

These are the ageless ponderings that linger, unresolved and suspended. It is a kind of emergence – already fully present and yet still evolving. Using colour and texture to express openness and vulnerability, the images that emerge invite the viewer to explore inner truths.
Referencing elements of antiquity, my work continues to allude to how artifacts and architecture are touchstones to history and distant memories. |
Referencing elements of antiquity, my work continues to allude to how artifacts and architecture are touchstones to history and distant memories. Semi abstract forms and loose architectural renderings suggest a portal between time and space. Using mixed drawing, graphite and acrylic paint media, the visual narratives express a sense of vulnerability juxtaposed with immutable permanence.
Ancient columns and incomplete arches suggest that something of the human experience remains regardless of whether it remains to be remembered or forgotten. |
